A GROUP of young Pony Club members swapped ponies for puppies as they held a fundraiser for Guide Dogs for the Blind.
The nine youngsters from the Mount Mascal Stables’ club in Bexley were spurred on by a visit to the stables earlier this year, from four local puppy walkers for the charity.
Stables owner Alison Window said: “They were a great hit with everyone.
“The pony clubbers learned so much that day about the life and training of these amazing dogs.”
The nine youngsters, aged between seven and 12, held a cake sale and a name-the-puppy sweepstake and raised £310 which they presented to walkers Malcolm and Jean Moore.
In return, the couple presented the youngsters with a framed photo of 11 guide dog puppies.
The children also earned their Pony Club fundraising achievement badge.
