BEXLEY’S highly successful Stop Smoking team will spring into action for No Smoking Day to sign up more people anxious to quit the evil weed.

With its Health on Wheels Quit Bus, the team will be at Morrisons in Erith today (March 9) between 9am and 1pm, signing up people for the four week free course to help them give up cigarettes.

People can get onboard the bus and have a lung age test and book themselves onto a course or sign up for weekly support.

Seven out of 10 people using a group course successfully give up smoking.

Advisors will also be in all borough GP surgeries offering advice and support.

Bexley Care Trust’s Stop Smoking service offers free specialist individual advice, group support, a drop-in services, support for pregnant smokers and parents and advice about aids such as nicotine patches and gum.
