WELLING: Matches for the under-sevens thanks to the Football Foundation

A JUNIOR football club is about to launch a new under-sevens team after winning a £5,000 grant.

Welling Wanderers has received the cash boost from the Football Foundation and the money will help fund the team, aimed at five to seven-year-olds, for the next three years.

The club has been in existence for 17 years and currently caters for children aged from seven to 17, as well as enabling volunteers to achieve their FA football coaching badges.

The new team will meet once a week with help from Charlton Athletic‘s community trust.
