WITH election fever beginning to take hold, Bexley residents are being reminded that unless they are on the electoral register, they cannot vote.
The council elections will take place on May 6 and a general election will have to be held by June 3 this year.
Bexley Council is particularly keen for first time voters to register in time to vote at the upcoming elections.
Council chief executive Will Tuckley said: “Voting is a lifetime habit all 18-year-olds should get into.”
To get onto the electoral register, people can access a form online at bexley.gov.uk/electoral registration
People can also ask for a form to be sent through the post, which they fill in and send back to the council’s electoral services team.
To find out more about how to get your name of the register of voters, call 020 8303 7777 or email elections.office@bexley.gov.uk
