A WORKER was airlifted to hospital after an accident on the the Sainsbury’s construction site in Crayford.
Emergency services were called to the site in Stadium Way, Crayford, just after noon on Saturday to reports of a man being injured.
It is understood he was hit by a bulldozer.
The HEMS air ambulance was called and landed at the adjacent Crayford Greyhound Track during a greyhound race meeting, and the injured man, believed to be in his early 20s, was flown to the Royal Free Hospital in London with serious leg injuries.
The Health and Safety Executive is now investigating the incident.
Sainsbury’s is currently extending its Crayford store.
