THINGS are hotting up for the Sidcup Festival, planned to set the town alight on July 24.

These Latin American dancers are the latest recruits to the festival fun, which will occupy the town centre and Sidcup Place from 10am to 10pm with a host of events.

Organiser Nitin Dabhade says more and more town businesses and community groups are signing up to support the event.

The Moghul Tandoori an Indian restaurant, in Main Road, has just offered £1,200 sponsorship for the event.

The festival will include a carnival parade, live music, street entertainment, competitions and promotions plus an events stage at Sidcup Place.

This year the traders have also teamed up with Lark in the Park, a two-week summer holiday event for children staged by Sidcup's churches, which will follow on from the festival day.
