LEE Murray, the Sidcup cage fighter wanted in connection with the £53m Securitas robbery in 2006, will not be extradited back to the UK to face trial.
A hearing in Morocco decided Murray, whose real name is Lamrani, is Moroccan and will not be returned to Britain.
He was facing charges of conspiring to rob, conspiring to kidnap and conspiring to possess firearms in connection with the raid.
A spokesman for Kent police said: “Lee Murray was deemed to be Moroccan and therefore cannot be extradited to this country.
“As planned, Kent police are now working with the Moroccan police on this inquiry.”
Murray was living with his partner and two children in Onslow Drive, Sidcup, when the Securitas depot in Tonbridge was raided.
He was named in the Old Bailey trial as “the leading light” in planning the robbery.
The court was told after the raid he fled to Amsterdam and then to Morocco with 30-year-old fellow fighter Paul Allen.
