Truck dumps porno mags near schools

PORNOGRAPHIC magazines have been dumped outside a village junior school by fly-tippers.

Roger Brindle, headteacher at Hextable Junior School, Rowhill Road, Hextable, is disgusted the magazines were dumped outside the school, along with enough household rubble to block the road for three hours.

He said: “I don’t understand the thinking involved. They knew there were going to be children around. There are three schools in the area and they must have known what was in the back of the lorry.” A teacher spotted the lorry, which was red with a silver back, dump the rubbish but it had sped off by the time she rushed into the road.

A hedge round the front of the school shielded the children from seeing the box-full of explicit pictures until home time.

Staff had to guide them around the offending material, only to meet the commotion of traffic outside as parents faced the mound of rubble in the middle of the road.

Mr Brindle said: “The kids would have been very inquiring about that sort of thing so we had to keep it out of the way.” Hextable Junior School is on the same site as its infant school counterpart, and Furness School for pupils with special needs is opposite.

Sevenoaks District Council sent three lorries to load up the mess and the road was clear by 5pm.

A council spokesman said: “Such a public incident of fly-tipping highlights the problems in the district. It is, of course, worrying schoolchildren should be exposed to pornography is such a way.” North Kent police are appealing for anyone with information about the incident, which occurred at 12.45pm on October 13, to call them on 01322 280055 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
