A CANCER charity is looking for last-minute entrants from the area to boost its fundraising Swimathon 2008.
One of the biggest events of its kind, the swimathon, organised by Marie Curie Cancer Care, attracts up to 25,000 swimmers nationwide.
Entrants can swim individually or as a team to complete their chosen distance of 1.5km, 2.5km or 5km.
For those who prefer to swim at their own pace, the SimplySwim challenge allows them to cover any distance in any pool at any time.
Swimathon 2008 is taking place at all three Bexley public pools, at Erith, Sidcup and Crook Log leisure centres from tomorrow until Saturday.
The charity employs a network of community nurses who care for cancer sufferers in their own homes.
It cared for 41 patients in Bexley last year. Marie Curie Cancer Care also runs 10 hospices.
To enter, go to swimathon.org or visit your local swimming pool.
