A Co Op has been "destroyed" in an alleged ram raid in Abbey Wood to steal a cash machine.
The Met Police were called at about 3.30am this morning, Thursday, November 30, to the Co Op in Eynsham Drive.
A spokesman said: "A car had been driven into the supermarket and an ATM stolen.
"The ATM was subsequently recovered nearby."
The front of the store has been badly damaged, with one witness saying online: "I feel sorry for the staff who work there, they take a lot of abuse, yet they always have a smile for me. It must be awful for them going to work this morning and finding their place of work destroyed."
Another said: "Its quite shocking to see the entire shop front has gone."
A crime scene had been set up by police, who are now appealing for witnesses.
Anybody with information is asked to call police on 101 or contact them on Twitter via @MetCC.
The video was shot by Mason Oliver.
