David Beckham played football professionally up until the age of 38 - but not everybody has that luxury.

If you're a little bit older, but still love the beautiful game, there may be a way around hanging up the boots.

Walking Football is launching in Bexleyheath at Goals every Tuesday and Saturday.

Increasingly popular, walking football is designed to help keep a spring in your step, regardless of age or ability.

Lisa Pearce, CEO of the London Football Association, said: “Walking football is open absolutely anyone – both men and women of all ages – who is interested in trying the sport. It’s so easy to join in, all you need is yourself and a pair of trainers to play, plus the benefits are huge.”

The game is open to men and woman of all ages, although it is particularly popular with those aged 50 and over.

Walking football was created in 2011 to keep older players involved in football, and for those looking for a fun and social way to stay active.

Walking football sessions at Goals Bexleyheath, located on Graham Road, are held every Tuesday at 7:30-8:30pm and every Sunday at 10:30am-11:30am.

There are no match, membership or registration fees, participants can turn up and play as and when they like. Priced at £3.00 per session.
