Dartford and Bexley once again faced floods yesterday as a month’s worth of rain battered the areas.

The Met Office issued a severe weather warning for the south east yesterday and it was predicted that 25mm would fall within just two or three hours

Videos of Milton Road in Swanscombe appeared on Gravesend & Dartford District news group showing deep flooding.

Cars attempted to drive through the flooded street as residents who were up to their knees in water tried to plunge sewers.

Flooding in Swanscombe is a historic problem, with heavy rain often causing problems for the area.

Elsewhere, Crayford also faced problems due to the rain.

Crayford High Street has flooded in the past due to burst water mains and on another occasion because of heavy rainfall.

Bexley Council said that street scene service officers and contractors attended 23 surface floods yesterday.

Crayford High Street appeared to have flooded near the McDonald's with cars struggling to drive through the road, but it has cleared up now.
