The Erith Lighthouse pop-up at the Riverside Gardens will be opened with a free garden party.

The garden party will start at 6.30 on August 10 and will feature live sets from musicians Phase 5 Steelband and Captain H and the Hi Tones.

Guests will also be able to try beers from the Bexley Brewery and food from Greenwich Co-operative Development agency.

The lighthouse is a pop-up structure that will have events on over the summer.

Bexley’s cabinet member for regeneration and growth, Cllr Linda Bailey said; “What a great way to start the fantastic series of summer events at the Erith Lighthouse! From walks to fine dining, arts, crafts to afternoon tea, there is something for everyone to enjoy at the Lighthouse and in such a great setting, right by the river. It is the perfect way to shine a light on part of the borough that has such fantastic untapped potential. I encourage local residents to go online and book their space for the Garden Party and come and celebrate the arrival of the Lighthouse.”

The event is free, but spaces are limited and must be booked in advance.

It will be at Riverside Gardens from 10–27 August and then at Erith Pier from 7-24 September. Throughout the summer, 17 chefs including a Masterchef finalist will host 17 dinners
