Hall Place Gardens has been deemed one of the UK’s best green spaces by the Green Flag Award Scheme.

Hall Place ticks the boxes for the scheme, which is now in its third decade, as it is “beautifully maintained and boasts the highest environmental standards.”

Councillor Peter Craske, who recently embarked on a tour of Bexley’s heritage sites, said: “We are absolutely thrilled that Hall Place has received a Green Flag Award for the 21st year in a row.

“We know how much quality green spaces matter to our residents and to visitors and this award celebrates the Garden team’s dedication and hard work that goes into keeping this beautiful site maintained and cultivated to a very high standard.”

Hall Place and Gardens is one of few sites in the UK to have won the Green Flag Award every year since 1996.

The gardens sit on the River Cray in Bexley and stretches 65 hectares, and opened to the public in 1952 by the Duchess of Kent.

It also recently received the Tripadvisor ‘Certificate of Excellence’ award.
