New Artwork designed by a local artist has been unveiled at The Quarry development site in Erith.

Gary Drostle designed the mural, inspired by residents’ stories of the old quarry which was disused for 40 years before this new development begun.

He said: “I have thoroughly enjoyed getting stuck into learning more about The Quarry and incorporating its fascinating history into my design.

“I hope that the future residents at The Quarry and the Erith community will enjoy the new artwork and I am looking forward to seeing the mural once it has been installed.”

The artwork will be displayed near The Quarry’s marketing suite at first before being moved to the site itself for new residents to enjoy.

Christine Osborne, regional sales director at L&Q, said: “It was wonderful working with Gary during the creative process, and seeing his ideas come to life.

“We are absolutely delighted with the mural he has created for us at The Quarry, I am certain that this will be a great addition to the community which will be enjoyed by all.”
