A Sidcup theatre college has been named as one of the highest quality places to learn in the UK.

The Rose Bruford College of Theatre Performance were handed a Gold award by an independent panel of experts at the Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF).

The TEF was introduced by the Government to recognise and reward excellent teaching in UK higher education providers.

Rose Bruford College was particularly commended for course design, personalised learning, links to the industry, physical and digital resources and the quality of its teaching being linked to professional practice.

Professor Michael Earley, college principal and chief executive, said: “The Gold TEF ranking is a major endorsement for Rose Bruford College of Theatre and Performance and the kind of teaching and learning excellence that led to our receiving Taught Degree Awarding Powers in 2017.

“We are in the top rank of UK conservatoires and now rank with the best universities in the Teaching Excellence Framework.

“The Gold award is something we share with all students, staff and alumni, all of whom delivered this tremendous result.'’
