A Bexleyheath job centre is being converted into 47 flats.

Bexley Council has granted prior approval to London Green Development Company for the office space in Westminster House to be changed in to flats.

The firm bought the three-storey building in Broadway in March this year and the agreement with the council states that the development must be finished within three years of the prior approval being granted.

The application cover letter said: "It is the developer’s intention to convert the existing B1(a) office use to C3 residential use. The conversion of the building will allow the creation of 47 residential units, one on the ground floor, 20 on each of the first and second floors, and six on the third floor."

A statement on the London Green website said: “London Green are pleased to announce that we have agreed to purchase Westminster House, Bexleyheath.

“This prominent town-centre site has incredible potential for future development, and we look forward to completing our final proposals to update and enhance the existing building.”

The council granted the approval subject to a number of conditions being met including submissions of details of bike storage, car parks and parking permits.
