A 15-year-old boy has been charged after a daylight knifepoint rape in a Kidbrooke park and will appear in court today.

The teenage suspect - who cannot be named for legal reasons - will appear in Bromley Youth Court.

He is charged with rape, robbery and possession of a bladed article, and threatening a person with a bladed article.

He had been arrested on Tuesday (April 25) evening.

The 15-year-old was also charged with robbery and possession of a bladed article after an attack in Handen Road, Lee on April 16.

The Kidbrooke victim, a woman in her 40s, was attacked as she walked through Sutcliffe Park on the afternoon of Wednesday, April 19.

She was taken to hospital and has since been discharged and is being supported by specialist officers.

Detectives from the Sexual Offences, Exploitation & Child Abuse Command are investigating.

The victim's handbag, described as white with long straps, was also stolen and officers continue to appeal for information and witnesses.
