Bexley police were engaged in a not-particularly high-speed chase with a JCB digger.
At around 1.30am today, March 13, police were called to a building site in Erith after reports of a stolen digger.
Police found the digger driving along Northend Road in Erith and signalled for it to stop.
After a short chase the digger eventually stopped along Thames Road outside Dartford.
A 34-year-old male was arrested for suspicion of burglary and theft of a motor vehicle.
It later transpired he was also wanted for two other theft offences and a recall to prison charge, so he was further arrested for these.
He is currently being held in custody in a south London Police Station.
