Two brothers from Bexley have been jailed for an horrific glassing attack on a man in a Dartford nightclub.

Liam and Kenny Burke launched the assault after a clash with their 22-year-old victim who was on a night out with friends at the former Crush nightclub in Spital Street.

Liam Burke, 27, repeatedly punched and kicked the man while Kenny Burke, 23, smashed him in the face with a broken bottle.

The victim was left needing 54 stitches.

Liam Burke had blood-stained clothing and a swollen hand when he was found by police nearby and arrested. Kenny Burke was later located too.

The brothers, both of Rye Close, denied committing GBH with intent but were found guilty by a jury.

Kenny Burke was sentenced at Maidstone Crown Court to nine years and Liam Burke got seven-and-a-half years for the attack that happened in May 2013.

Investigating officer Detective Constable James Greenidge said: ‘This was a particularly violent attack that caused horrific facial injuries.

“The court heard how the attack has had a significant effect on the victim.”
