A drink-driver, who ran over a teenage girl in Bexleyheath, has had his sentencing delayed.

Mark Shelton, 57, of Marden Crescent, Bexley, pleaded guilty to dangerous driving and drink-driving charges on July 11.

The 15-year-old victim, thought to be a pupil at St Catherine’s School, was taken to hospital after the incident in Watling Street at 3.20pm on February 9.

The schoolgirl suffered a bump on her forehead, cuts to her legs, a bruised hip and other injuries.

He was supposed to be sentenced at Inner London Crown Court today, but the case has been adjourned until September 5.

Shelton must undergo an Alcohol Treatment Report (ATR) before returning to court.
