Police are appealing to the public to help identify a man in connection with an investigation into a serious assault.

The incident is believed to have happened in Wingate Road, Sidcup, at about 3pm on April 10.

And a 24-year-old was left with permanent eye damage after a "horrifying" assault.

The victim intervened in an argument between a black male, a white male and a white female with blonde hair.

Shortly after the 24-year-old man had a liquid or noxious substance squirted into his eye by the white male, and was taken to hospital for treatment.

The suspect is described as a white man, in his mid-20s, about 5ft 11ins tall, with short dark hair.

He was wearing a light grey T-shirt and grey shorts, and has multiple tattoos to his inner left arm.

Detective constable Laura Connolly from Bexley Police’s CID, said: “We are appealing for help to identify this man after this horrifying assault.

“It is important that we speak with him and I would urge anyone who may have information about this incident to contact police.”
