Gravesend RNLI rescued a person "clinging to a ladder" in the river at Erith in the early hours of yesterday morning.
The lifeboat was launched at around 4am, to a report of a person in the water at Morrison's Jetty.
When they arrived they found the person was clinging to a ladder.
The lifeboat, along with Marine Police 3, helped the man onto the lifeboat before taking him to Erith causeway into the care of the police.
