Bexley residents have proved they can handle their drink – downing more than 7,000 pints at the borough’s beer festival.
The 11th Bexley Beer Festival, run by volunteers, sucked in 1,500 boozers – who enjoyed 6,500 pints of beer and 780 pints of cider.
That's a lot of beer...
Taps at Old Dartfordians Sports Club ran dry by 5.30pm on May 7 – despite only being switched on 48 hours earlier.
Organised Alan Boakes said: "Beer has been fundamental to Brits for literally thousands of years. Not many are aware of either its heritage or that the associated traditional industries are still developing, if not thriving, today.
'Cheers'
“It is great to be able to showcase some of what is currently available. So why not come along and try our IPAs, traditional bitters, porters, stouts and milds or even some specialist ales with fruit or spices.
"The festival went very well."
