A "gentleman with the biggest heart" who was killed by a train near Dartford station this week (May 5) has been named as Leon Coulthard, who is originally from Sidcup.

Mr Coulthard grew up in Albany Park and attended Cleeve Park School. He is in his 30s, according to police.

Tributes continue to pour in for the man who touched hearts across Kent and Bexley.

Liz, whose son grew up with Mr Coulthard, told News Shopper: "He always was willing to come help out with odd jobs around the house.

"We chatted for hours about putting the worlds to right, but sadly Leon was not able to do that in reality.

"He crashed at ours many a night and would chat over a morning coffee.

"My heart is aching for his mum and family, it's devastating."

News Shopper:

Julie Davey knew Leon since he was 13 or 14 years old. She said: "He was a friend of my son.

"He was the most kind, genuine boy ever. He would be there for anyone who needed him, regardless of his own problems.

"He will be sorely missed by so many, as he touched all of our hearts in one way or another.

"Such a sad loss, a gentleman with the biggest heart - but a troubled soul".

News Shopper:

Friend Jenny added: "God bless you Leon. You are free from the demons now. Sorry that we were unable to help you xxx".

Officers from British Transport police were called to the railway line near Dartford at around 6.30am on bank holiday Monday (May 2), after a body was found on the side of the track.

Paramedics also attended, but sadly Mr Coulthard was pronounced dead at the scene.
