Police have issued CCTV footage of a man they want to speak to after a suspected arson in Belvedere.

On Tuesday, January 19, police were called at about 10pm to reports of a fire at Mulberry Automotives in Fishers Way, at the junction with Mulberry Way. 

The fire involved a burning fuel truck.

London Fire Brigade attended and extinguished the fire. The cab of the lorry was destroyed however the trailer, with 6,000 litres of diesel, was undamaged.

Damage of about £30,000 was caused.

CCTV recorded the suspect squeeze through bent railings and enter the yard with a fuel can.

Moments later, there was an explosion and the suspect was seen to run towards a tanker, pour fuel over the rear of the cab and set it alight. He then ran off towards the nearby scaffolding company.

The suspect is described as a man wearing a light coloured top and bottoms.

Police are keen to hear from anyone who may recognise the man shown on CCTV or any other witnesses.
