A dad-of-two was in shock when a schoolgirl allegedly screamed “I’ll f*** you up” at an old man and then pushed him over at a shop in Sidcup.

James Rust, 35, spoke about how his four-year-old son was in tears after witnessing the behaviour at Poundland in Sidcup High Street at about 3.45pm on Tuesday (February 2).

Mr Rust claims the “15-year-old-looking” girl was being filmed by three laughing school friends as she knocked over a sweet rack and continually screamed.

The utilities worker said: “While my son and I were in the store, I heard lots of laughing and then a loud crash – a sweet rack had been knocked over by a 15-year-old-looking girl.

“She was with friends who were all laughing and filming her. Five minutes later, there was even more screaming and I saw her shove an old man. All he was doing was gesturing her to be quiet.

“She started swiping her arms at the door while screaming and then I thought about taking a photo but then I looked down at my son and he was in tears.

“I picked him up and took him to the back of the shop. I was very worried about the whole situation.

“She kept on swearing at the old man and threatened him by saying, “I’ll f*** you up.”

Mr Rust was in Poundland as he was waiting to pick his younger son up from his childminder.

He wanted to get involved to stop the schoolgirl’s rage but admitted his son was already at risk.

Mr Rust added: “I’m still extremely annoyed with what happened especially as my son witnessed it - I would’ve never got on like that when I was her age.

“I heard staff say they were going to call the police.

“I wanted to stop her but nowadays if you try and stop a young person, you end up in trouble, and my son was at risk.

“It was just a shame that I couldn’t see her uniform.”

A spokesman for the Sidcup Poundland branch said: “An incident was reported yesterday where a girl stole something and acted out when she was stopped.”

The police have been contacted.
