Bexley’s borough commander Chief Superintendent Jeff Boothe has announced the borough’s police will target violent criminals to tackle the increase in these felonies during October.
Officers will be using a range of tactics to target the offenders and reduce the threat of physical harm, including those who commit domestic abuse.
The police will also deploy resources across a wide range of activities – from problem-solving to an intensified focus on forensic retrieval.
Ch Supt Boothe said: “No level of violence is acceptable and we’re here to protect victims and bring to justice those who commit violent offences.
“We’ll be targeting known offenders and stopping and searching people to detect and deter the carrying of weapons.
“We will continue to proactively identify, arrest and seek prosecution of criminals.”
Police aim to set up operations to track down outstanding criminals who are alleged to have taken part in violent acts.
To report domestic abuse or to speak to an officer for advice call 999 in an emergency, or Bexley’s Community Safety Unit on 101.
