The 8th Bexleyheath Scout Group celebrated their 80th anniversary at the Scout Hall in Welling.
The party was held on September 19 for around 120 guests with current members, past and present leaders and old scouts from the 1940s in attendance.

The group was started on September 24 1935 by George Kent and is based in the Scout Hall on West Brooke Road, Welling.
Group Scout Leader Bernadette Foskett said: “The party was a great success with children and parents taking part in scout-based party games.
“A raffle took place where £166 was raised for the Macmillan Coffee Morning Appeal.”
The ages range from six to 14 with Beavers being the youngest and Scouts classed as the oldest.

Across the whole group, there are 56 members who engage in various kinds of exercises.
The Barnehurst resident added: “The children follow a balanced programme which provides fun and adventure to earn activity and challenge badges.
“This allows them to demonstrate their progress in various pursuits and helps them form new interests.”
