A pair of Bexley police officers risked their lives to save a woman threatening to throw herself from a bridge over the A2.
PC Iain McAllen and PC Leighton Gill took part in a desperate search to find a distressed woman who had left her home in Bexley, threatening to harm herself, on February 5.
The officers spotted her on the wrong side of the barriers on a foot bridge over the busy road, leaning backwards with her eyes closed.

The brave pair grabbed hold of the woman as she let go, leaving PC Gill hanging over the bridge, clinging onto the woman.
The woman as wrestled back over the barriers before she was taken to a south London Hospital.

The officers were commended by Bexley Borough Commander Jeff Boothe and the Mayor of Bexley, Councillor Sybil Camsey for their bravery and professionalism in saving the woman.
Chief Inspector Ian Broadbridge from Bexley Police said: "The actions of PCs Gill and McAllen saved this woman's life and are an excellent example of bravery and professionalism".
Presenting the commendation, Bexley Borough Commander Jeff Boothe said: "Their courage, bravery, commitment and dedication is an indication of why Bexley remains one of the safest boroughs in the country".
