Latest figures show while house listings in London have risen as a whole Bromley showed the highest drop.

Statistics from online estate agent Housesimple.com measures the number of new house listings last month compared to the previous month across the whole of the UK.

More than three quarters of London boroughs, 78.1 per cent, showed an increase in new properties with Bexley the highest at 30.6 per cent.

But Bromley showed the biggest decline in London, down 11.2 per cent compared to the previous month.

Outside of London the town with the biggest increase was Swindon, with new homes on the market up by 47.3 per cent.

Alex Gosling, chief executive of HouseSimple.com, said: "The market still needs more stock to temper house price growth.

"One of the reasons why prices haven't cooled, and are seemingly on a relentless upwards trajectory, has been a lack of new properties coming on to the market, especially in London."
