The rainbow, brownie and guide leader said:  “I went to the window and the wheels were still spinning.

“As I was running to her she started to honk her horn for help.

"I was the one holding her hand until the emergency services arrived.

"She had cuts to her arm, but otherwise was shaken but okay."

Other startled neighbours called the emergency services.

Emily Martin, 23, who lives nearby, said: “It was around 4am. There was like an explosion – my whole house woke up and heard it.

“I went down to the end of the road this morning and it was cordoned off.

“There were two cars on their back.”

A Met Police spokesman said: "It appears there was only one woman who was injured.

"Her injuries were not thought to be life threatening."

Bexley councillor Danny Hackett tweeted about the 'major' accident - which happened at the end of his road.
