A young mum is hoping history repeats itself when her daughter competes in a Bexleyheath kids’ modelling competition, which she won herself at six months old.
Lauren Evans, 22, won the free-to-enter Model Tots competition at Broadway Shopping Centre, Bexleyheath, in 1993.
When Mrs Evans married her daughter’s father, Oliver, earlier this month, she realised her wedding photographer had also pictured her during the competition.
After discovering the coincidence, she entered Maisie, three, in this year’s Model Tots on Sunday (May 31).
Mrs Evans said: “It would be amazing if Maisie won.
“She’s so photogenic - the trouble is getting her to sit still for long enough.”
The winner’s parents will take home over £5,000 - and 200 runners up will get studio portraits taken by photographer Nigel Barrett.
Mr Barrett said: “I’m just pleased to have the chance to photograph Maisie, she was the most beautiful and angelic bridesmaid so she has a chance.”
The competition is recognised as the largest of its type in the south east.
Parents can enter their sons and daughters on the day.
