A primary school class in Crayford were treated to a private screening of a new DreamWorks Animation film yesterday (May 19), after one of its five-year-old pupils won a nationwide competition.
Reception pupil Amelie Smyth from Haberdashers' Aske's Crayford Academy, on Iron Mill Lane, scooped the top prize after housing developer Bellway Homes launched a competition to mark the release of DreamWork's new family film, Home.
Kechi Franklynn, head of key stage one at the academy, said: “We were thrilled when we got the call to say that Amelie had won, especially when we were told that all 90 pupils from our south campus could attend.
"It was a lovely day and all of the pupils thoroughly enjoyed the movie.”

The competition involved colouring in the two main characters of the movie, as well as explaining their dream grown up home, which Amelie described as pink.
The pupils travelled to 20th Century Fox's head offices in Soho Square, London to enjoy the special screening.
