At ellenor, staff care for over 150 children with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions.

Its Children’s Hospice Care team, formerly known as chYps, is the only charitable service in the county to provide care to seriously ill children in the comfort of their own home and consistency of support for teenagers who later require care as adults.

Mr Palmer said: “I feel honoured to be a Patron of ellenor.

"Many of ellenor’s patients are children, and as a father-of-three, I can think of nothing more important than supporting a charity that provides the best possible care and support to families facing terminal illness in Kent.”

Prior to becoming Patron, the well-known broadcaster had taken part in the charity’s sponsored Chilli Dip Cold Water Swim at St Julian’s Club in Sevenoaks and attended its Showtime Dinner Danceand a Family Christmas Carol Concert.
