A disabled pensioner from Sidcup has had his "only means of independence taken away" after his mobility scooter was stolen from outside his home.
Brian Hallett, of Woodside Road, has trouble walking due to vascular Parkinson's, and woke up on Saturday morning (February 21) to find the scooter had been taken.
The 76-year-old had left the scooter - a Roma Sorrento with a scuff mark on the front left wheel arch - outside his front door when he returned home from dinner the previous night.
His daughter Alison Hallett, 43, told News Shopper: "It is disgusting that this has happened to a 76-year-old man.
"We've had a nightmare worrying because of his mobility.
"He cannot walk freely - he needs his scooter.
"Now he has his only means of independence away from him.
"He is very upset and we would like the public's help in catching this thug."
Anyone with information should call crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
