A man has suffered serious injuries after he was hit between two lorries in Bexleyheath.

Emergency services attended a builders' yard in Pickford Lane at around 11am yesterday morning.

The man, who became trapped between the two vehicles, was taken to the major trauma centre at King's College Hospital.

A witness, who lives nearby but did not want to be named, said last night: "The man walked between the two lorries as another driver was starting his lorry.

"It jumped forward and trapped the man in between.

"There was four ambulances and three police cars on the scene as well as the advanced trauma team.

"I live quite close to the builders' yard and can confirm that police are still at the scene now investigating the lorries."

A police spokesman said: "The incident is not believed to be life threatening and it is non-suspicious."
