Convicted sex offender Stuart Kerner will take part in a 10k race to raise funds to help the 'falsely accused', it is believed.
The formed Bexleyheath Academy vice-principal, 44, is thought to have set up a Just Giving page raising funds for Amnesty International by taking part in the BUPA 10,000 in central London on May 25.
A summary of his fundraising efforts on the online site states: "Amnesty International are an organisation that supports the innocent against persecution, ignorance and torture.
"They campaign against those unjustly locked up - an issue which is now very close to my heart.
Stuart Kerner
"This event will hopefully give me something to focus on and look forward to.
"As I'm not in a position to give to good causes myself, as I have always done, I also thought this would be a good way to maintain being involved in fundraising."
Supporters have so-far donated £230 via the page.
