Foal dies after filling into ditch in Belvedere
A foal has died after falling in a 5ft ditch in Belvedere.
London Fire Brigade (LFB) crews made desperate attempts to rescue the baby horse, which was discovered in a ditch off St Thomas Road at 8.15am today (Jan 19).
A spokesman for LFB said: "Unfortunately despite the best efforts of our crews the young foal who fell into a cold, muddy ditch in Belvedere has died.
"It is thought it was there overnight in freezing temperatures."
