A video tribute to a young cancer sufferer from Slade Green has captured some festive cheer.

The film is a message sent to seven-year-old Frankie-Rose Lea who is currently battling the disease in America, with the help of proton beam therapy, a specialist treatment.

The YouTube clip starts with the song, Let it Go from Disney hit Frozen, with a group of singing along children in costume, some donning princess dresses.

The film then transforms into a group of festively-dressed adults dancing to Slade's Merry Christmas Everybody.

The touching tribute is just one example of how the community has rallied around the Haberdashers’ Aske’s pupil.

Last month News Shopper revealed people had helped raise £177,000 in less than a week on a fundraising site to ensure she could have the life-saving therapy in Oklahoma. She was diagnosed with a brain tumour in August.

News Shopper:

From her Facebook page it appears the therapy is going well and the family are doing their best to make the trip as fun as possible.

Mum Michelle and dad Sam posted on Friday: "Went on the polar express this week to the North Pole where we found a special guest aka Santa Claus. Memories imprinted for life.

"The kids will remember the year we went to Oklahoma for nice reasons, warm childhood memories not just the year Frankie-rose had treatment.

"Glad that if we have to be away from home this Christmas this is where we are."
