A company is offering to challenge parking tickets for a fee of just £5.
Private Parking Appeals (PPA) says it is dedicated to helping motorists “fight back” against private parking companies (PPC) who often slap drivers with extortionate fines for “illegal” parking.
It pledges to offer a two-stage appeal process focussing on legal “grey areas” associated with private parking charges.
The firm will send an initial appeal letter to the PPC for £5 and claims that in many cases this appeal will be sufficient for the charge to be cancelled.
However, if the charge remains, motorists can pay a further £10 for PPA to send an appeal to the relevant independent appeals service which will be refunded if the charge is not cancelled.
Further help is also available for drivers who have received a County Court Claim from a PPC. For £15 it will provide a tailor-made defence statement.
And if the matter proceeds to a small claims court, it will provide a witness statement and skeleton argument for defendants to use at the hearing.
