Four fire engines and around 20 firefighters fought a blaze at a house in Erith this morning (December 17).

Part of the ground floor of the Waterhead Close house, which is under development, was damaged.

There were no reports of any injuries.

Firefighters from Plumstead, Erith and Bexley fire stations attended the scene at 9.55am.

The fire was brought under control at 10.38am.

The cause of the fire is not known at this stage.
