A third man has been arrested following the murder of Olamide Fasina, who was stabbed by a gang in Thamesmead.

Mr Fasina, 25, known to pals as Ben, was cornered near Wolvercote Road on October 14 at around 2.12pm and died at the scene.

Police say a 22-year-old was arrested on suspicion of murder last night (October 28) at an address in Luton and remains in custody.

A 21-year-old man [B] arrested on suspicion of murder on Monday in Gillingham, also remains in custody at a south London police station.

Police also arrested a 22-year-old man on October 17. He has been bailed until later this month.

Detective Chief Inspector Russell Taylor, who is leading the investigation for the Homicide and Major Crime Command, said: "We would like to hear from anyone who was in the area and may have seen either the build-up to this incident or the aftermath following the assault.

"There would have been a significant number of people around at this time of day and I would urge anyone who can assist this investigation to contact the incident room without delay."

Officers know the victim was with a group of friends and associates that day and are keen to speak to anyone yet to come forward.
