Bexley smokers can quit the habit in October during an action-packed series of events.
The Department of Health scheme, Stoptober, encourages people to stop smoking for the whole of the month in a bid to quit for good.
Research shows if people stop smoking for 28 days, they are five times more likely to stop for good.
And so GP practices and pharmacies are offering advice across the borough.
This month sees sessions run at Erith District Hospital every Monday between 10am and noon, at Queen Mary’s Hospital each Tuesday between 5.30pm and 8pm, at Sidcup Library from 5pm to 7pm on Wednesdays and Central Library in Bexleyheath every Thursday between 4.45pm and 6.45pm.
There will also be a Quit Bus outside Morrison’s in Erith every Wednesday between 9.30am and 1.30pm.
