Five men from Greenhithe, Bromley, Bexley and Sidcup have been charged as part of an investigation into an attempt to impede police inquiries.

Metropolitan Police Directorate of Professional Standards (DPS) detectives investigating allegations of corrupt relationships between two legal representatives and their clients intended to impede police inquiries, have charged 13 people.

On June 12 seven people were arrested, with a further eight people arrested on later dates as part of the ongoing investigation. They were bailed to return pending further inquiries.

On September 18 13 people were charged in relation to the investigation and have all now been bailed to appear at Westminster Magistrates' Court on October 10.

Two others who had been arrested were released with no further action.

Derek Parker, aged 44 of Willersley Avenue, Sidcup, Kent has been charged with one count of conspiracy to commit fraud by false representation; two counts of Conspiring to Pervert the Course of Justice; two counts of custody or control of counterfeit currency; using apparatus for the purpose of interfering with wireless telegraphy and four charges of handling stolen goods.

John Bull, aged 57, of Coniston Road, Bromley has been charged with one count of conspiring to Pervert the Course of Justice; one count of possessing a weapon for the discharge of a noxious liquid and one count of possessing ammunition for a firearm without a certificate.

Matthew Evans, aged 29, of Clarinda House, Clovelly Place, Greenhithe, has been charged with one count ofFraud by False Representation and Conspiracy to commit fraud by false representation.

Daniel Oliver, aged 27, of Mount Nod, London Road, Greenhithe has been charged with Conspiracy to commit fraud by false representation.

And James Michie, aged 43, of Shirley Avenue, Bexley has been charged with Conspiracy to commit fraud by false representation.
