A Gravesend baby who was born with a back-to-front heart returned home last week after undergoing two operations to keep her alive.
Chloe Bennett, dubbed ‘the miracle baby’ was operated on at just three hours old.
Her 37-year-old mother Stephanie Bennett plans to campaign to raise awareness of her condition which is known as ‘transposition of the great arteries’.
Mrs Bennett was told at 20 weeks pregnant that her baby daughter had the life threatening condition which meant that blood vessels in her heart were wired the wrong way round and were stopping oxygen circulating around her body.
Speaking of Chloe’s open-heart surgery in June, mother-of-four Mrs Bennett said: ‘It was the longest day of my life.”
More to come.
