FORMER EastEnders star Cheryl Fergison was on hand to officially re-open a popular Crayford charity shop after a makeover.
Sidcup homeowner Cheryl, who played Heather Trott in the soap between 1997 and 2012, officially cut the ribbon at the refurbished chYps charity shop, in Crayford Road, yesterday.
As the public flocked into the gleaming new shop, Cheryl said: “The shop looks absolutely wonderful.
“I’d encourage everyone locally to pop in and pick themselves up a bargain or two, and leave happy knowing their purchase is helping to pay for vital hospice at home care for sick children in Bexley.”
Shop manager Sue Lee added: “We’re all over the moon with the refurbishment.
“I’m so pleased for our volunteers because they thoroughly deserve it for all their dedication and hard work. We are all so excited about coming into work.”
chYps, a part of EllenorLions Hospice, must raise more than £1 million every year to maintain its vital service for babies, children and young adults.
