AN ABBEY Wood father who will be cycling from John O’Groats to Lands End has completed a 100-mile warm-up in Swanley.

Dennis Watson, 54, was joined by his 26-year-old son Ian at White Oak Leisure Centre for the cycle, ahead of the gruelling 950-mile cross-country journey in April.

Dennis, who lives with his son in Priory Drive, will be completing the nine-day journey alongside more experienced cyclist Graham Witham in a bid to raise cash for Mencap.

The father and son duo cycled for five-hours on Saturday (FEB 23), taking it in turns on the static exercise bike.

Dennis said: “I haven’t cycled much until recently - Graham is really the fit one. I’m hoping that I can keep up with him.”
