FOLLOWING a promising visit by Ofsted, pupils at a Crayford Primary School were visited by Bexleyheath and Crayford MP David Evennett.
The MP visited St Joseph's Catholic Primary School, in Old Road, where he answered questions about the legal system and participated in a school council meeting.
He also met with the school’s headteacher, Jean Sinclair, whose "caring, ambitious and increasingly effective leadership" was recently praised by an inspector.
Mr Evennett said: "I was impressed with the behaviour of the pupils and the way in which teachers were conducting their lessons.
"I welcome the fact that they are engaging with the local community and other outside bodies and the school is to be congratulated on their progress."
The school was placed in special measures following an inspection in May last year.
However the most recent monitoring inspection found it was "making reasonable progress" towards removal of special measures.
