DETECTIVES are appealing for witnesses after two men were attacked within yards of each other in Thamesmead in the early hours of Friday morning.
In the first attack at 5:50am, a man in his 30s was attacked by three men between Summerton Way and Crossway.
Although the suspects made off empty-handed, they assaulted the man and tried to steal his personal property, leaving him with injuries to his hand and face.
Ten-minutes later, a man in his 50s was punched in the face and had his phone stolen as he was waiting at the Woolwich-bound bus stop in Manordene Road.
The suspects then made off in the direction of Summerton Way.
Officers say they are appealing for witnesses who saw a group of three or four white men in the Crossway area to get in touch.
They are described as being aged between 20 and 25 and one was wearing a black jacket with white stripes on the sleeves.
Another was wearing a red jumper and jacket.
